AVAAZ - Why Greece matters for all of us This week could decide the fate of the Greek people, and of Europe, and the only common sense option isn't on the table....
What you are not being told by the media According to mainstream media, the current economic crisis in Greece is due to the government spending too much money on its people that it went broke. This claim however, is a lie. It was the banks that wrecked the country so oligarchs and international corporations could benefit.
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/belief/2015/jul/03/throughout-h... Another angle: "corrupt German companies bribed corrupt Greek politicians to buy German weapons. And then a German chancellor presses for austerity on the Greek people to pay back the loans they took out (with Germans banks) at massive interest"
http://www.filmsforaction.org/watch/confessions-of-an-economic-hitman/ In the context of recent events in Greece it is worth revisiting this clip from Zeitgeist: Addendum - featuring "economic hitman" John Perkins. Greece is the latest in a long line of countries to come under attack from the economic hitmen, and this time their weapon is austerity. Thanks to people like John blowing the whistle on their activities we are now more aware of what they are doing and so better able to resist.
https://www.facebook.com/occupynz/posts/929831780408585 All over the world, from Bolivia to Greece people are connecting the dots. Austerity is just the latest tool used as a means of imposing ever greater restrictions on sovereign nations, creating debt slaves and forcing structural adjustment programmes that asset strip the people to feed the rapacious greed of capitalism. Strong popular critiques of capitalism and neoliberalism have developed in Latin America where for decades the IMF, World Bank and international corporations have plied their trade. Now the chickens have come home to roost in the birthplace of democracy. It's time for us all to get politically engaged in the true sense of the word. #OccupyNZ #SaveOurPlanet #Austerity #Greece #tweet #follow
This is what they are trying to achieve in Europe too, and they thought to start it in Greece...
Logical
Actually it is very simple and logical:
After several thousands of years, the inventors -and thus the masters- of Democracy just had to explain again what it is really about. And the best way to explain things happens to be: giving the example yourself.
And that is what the Greek just did. Thank you for the lesson and reminding us.
Logisch
